I watched 5x05 of Orphan Black yesterday, had a libido-driven panic attack about Cosima in a suit talking about genetics, went to AO3, and discovered this gem. God bless tag wranglers. God bless tagging. God bless whisperspaces. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that Orphan Black has the extremely specific-to-this-fandom tag, which I absolutely adore, of....



whisperspace: still frustrated with the consistent issue of a fandom where the theme is very explicitly family. There are SO MANY female characters, and I just caaan't get behind shipping them. And you can't even do the RPF Supernatural thing!! Even non-genetically-related characters have this -- like, Siobhan/Sarah is also a no-go. Siobhan/any clones is a no go. Siobhan/OFC, however, I would read the fuck out of. She deserves an entire heist series.

LOLOL, wonderful. (I'm so behind on Orphan Black, partially bc I'm a Bad Reader Of Scifi & stopped being able to keep track of all the plotty stuff. But MAN there were sure things I enjoyed the hell out of on that show.)

The completely-bonkers plotty stuff is part of why I love it so much, because I feel zero responsibility to check in on the actual details of Today's Big Bad. I know it'll never make sense! Art is just in an unrelated cop show! The Hendrixes are fussing over a PTA meeting!
Consequently though, I can just lean super-hard and uncomplicatedly into the way it hits at 99% of my interests in one fell swoop (genetics, feminism, IP law, found family, queer-women-in-technical-fields, etc.)

Anyway, it'll still be there waiting if you, as I did just last week, decide that fancy!Cosima is something you need after all.
